All Quiet at Al Sufouh Tram
Although funding appears to have been agreed and contracts awarded, work still seems to be slow on the Al Sufouh Tram project. After the completion of the green line of the Dubai Metro the RTA were said to have stepped up the work on the Al Sufouh Tram project, but looking at the site down at JBR there does not seem to be much work going on right now. There has been some deep excavation which was done a while ago now but not really much sign of any further work happening. Construction Work Ongoing
So if you have driven along the Marina road that borders on the Sheikh Zayed Road – you know, the one where Dubai Marina Mall is, then you probably won’t have failed to have noticed the building work that is going on alongside the road. If you look over the edge of the road then you will see what looks like another raised road being built alongside, but this in fact part of the al Sufouh Tram network.
