The RTA has confirmed that, as per last year, the tram will be operating throughout the night on New Year’s Eve to enable everyone to travel home from the new year celebrations.
Therefore, once the tram starts operations on the morning of 31 December it will not stop running until 1 AM on 2 January.
They have also confirmed that the same will happen with the Dubai Metro which will operate throughout the night of 31st December. The Metro will stop operating on midnight between the 1st and 2NFL of January which are the end of service normal operating hours.
The RTA are trying to encourage people to use public transport over New Year to save the gridlock that often happened in the past.
They will also be free parking available on 1 January except at the fish market car park.
The RTA has announced the timings for the holiday of Al Hijri (New year) for 2016 and there is no change from the usual timings for Dubai Tram.
The tram will continue to run on Friday from 9am until 1am the next day and on Saturday it runs from 6.30am until 1am the following day.
Free parking has been announced in almost all paid parking zones on 2nd October (the exceptions being the Fish market car park and some multi story car parks).
The timings for the Dubai Tram on the occasion of Eid al Adha 2016 are as follows:
Friday 9th September – 9am until 1am the next day
Saturday 10th to Tuesday 13th September – 6.30am until 1am the next day
The RTA has announced the the timings for the Dubai Tram for Eid al Fitr 2016 will be as follows:
The Dubai Tram will operate from 6.30am until 1am on Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th July, and from 9am until 1am on Friday 8th July.
For the holy month of Ramadan (which is expected to begin on June 6th 2016), the RTA has announced that the Dubai Tram will have the following operating hours:
Saturday to Thursday: fom 6.30am to 1.00am
Friday: from 9.00am to 1.00am the following day.

New Year’s Eve 2015:
The RTA have confirmed that the Dubai Tram will operate non-stop over New Year’s Eve from the start of service on Thursday 31st December 2015 at 6.30am until close of service at 1am on Saturday.
This is great news for revellers in the Marina/JBR area who will be able to use public transport to get home at any hour of the night.
Also, if you need to connect to the Dubai Metro to get home then that will also be working non-stop hours over New Year’s Eve.
The operating hours for the Dubai Tram for Eid al Adha 2015 are as follows:
Wednesday – 6.30am until 1.30am (Thursday)
Thursday – 6.30am until 1.30am (Friday)
Friday – 9am until 1.30am (Saturday)

Friday 17th July 2015 – 9am until 1.30am (next day)
Saturday 18th July and Sunday 19th July 2015- 6.30am until 1.30am (next day)

The Dubai Tram will be open from 6.30am on Wednesday 31st December until 1.30am on January 2nd. It will be open all night over New Year to enable those taking part in the celebrations to get home safely.
